Help us Fill the Catholic Charities Food Pantry!
Feb 4, 2019
SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) are government benefits that clients receive. Due to the government shutdown these benefits will not be distributed in February. Clients will not receive SNAP benefits until March. Therefore, with a gap in receiving their payments, we anticipate an increase in demand for food in our food pantry. Due to this, we are asking local parishes and schools to hold emergency food drives so we can be prepared in our pantry for an anticipated increase. We think participants will run out of food money early in February and no new benefits will be available to them until March. We plan to have extended food pantry hours the weeks of 2/18 and 2/25 to accommodate everyone who may need it . Collections of non-perishable food or monetary donations designated for the food pantry will be accepted any time before February 27th. Thank you for responding to the needs of our community. - Catholic Charities
