Letter from Fr. Cook
May 16, 2020
Late this afternoon, we received word that “a United States District Judge has issued a temporary restraining order that prevents the state of North Carolina from taking any action against a place of worship that conducts religious services indoors. The order is effective immediately and will last for at least 14 days.”
The Diocese of Charlotte has informed Pastors that they may exercise discretion in determining the best solution for the particular circumstances in their parishes.
Until such time as measures are in place to ensure the health and safety of our parishioners and visitors, to the greatest extent possible, this weekend there will be no Masses celebrated in St. Leo church.
As we have done in recent weeks, Mass will be available beginning at 9 AM tomorrow on YouTube.
Please watch this space for any modifications to our liturgical schedule in the coming days.
Once again, my first responsibility as your pastor is to safeguard your well-being and that of your families.
Father Brian Cook
