We will have Mass at noon and 6 pm in the church and an ash distribution service in the courtyard at noon for Ash Wednesday (Feb. 17th).
The Vatican has issued instructions as to the distribution of ashes for this year due to the pandemic. These instructions apply to all parishes for this year:
After blessing the ashes and sprinkling them with holy water in silence, the priest or deacon will address those present, reciting once the formula found in the Roman Missal: “Repent, and believe in the Gospel” or “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return”.
At that point, the priest or deacon will “cleanse his hands, put on a face mask, and distribute ashes to those who come to him..." He will then sprinkle the ashes on each person’s head “without saying anything.”
