First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion

This sacrament is traditionally celebrated in the 2nd grade.  Candidates will prepare for First Reconciliation from September until January of the 2021-2022 school year and will participate in the celebration of Reconciliation for the first time in mid-January.  Candidates will then prepare for First Holy Communion from February until May and will celebrate the sacrament in early May.  Parents will be required to attend parent meetings at the beginning of both preparations.

For children to participate in this sacrament they should have completed the following requirements:

  1. Be a baptized Catholic.
  2. Was enrolled in a Catholic religious education program or Catholic school during the 2020-2021 school year.
  3. Be in at least the 2nd grade.


First Reconcilattion preparation:  2021-2022

Parent Meetings:  A parent will need to attend one of the two offered meetings.  Dates and information regarding sacramental preparation as well as handing out books and materials will take place:  Monday, September 20, 2021 at 10AM in the Activity Center and Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 6:30 PM in the Activity Center

Faith Formation Volunteers Needed

WANT TO BE MORE INVOLVED?  SPEND QUALITY TIME WITH YOUR CHILDREN?  WANT TO SHARE YOUR FAITH?  The Faith Formation program is for you!  We are in need of adult volunteers to help with our Faith Formation program for the 2021-2022 school year.  We have positions for catechists and assistants from grades PreK through 8th. Training is provided. Each class will have two volunteers to work with the children. If you are interested and would like more information about our program please contact the Faith Formation office at [email protected] or 336-724-0561. High school students are encouraged to volunteer.


Protecting God's Children

If you are a volunteer with St. Leo Parish School or the Church, please talk with a staff member about completing the Protecting God's Children program. It is a mandatory program for all volunteers. You can find the online training here
