New Visitation Ministry Saint Leo is expanding its existing Visitation Ministry by offering friendship and companionship to Catholic residents in our local nursing homes or who are homebound. This ministry is simple but incredibly meaningful. Volunteers visit residents who often feel lonely and appreciate a friendly face, a listening ear, and the reassurance that their parish family has not forgotten them. This ministry is distinct from those who bring the Eucharist to the homebound or nursing homes. Your presence, kindness, and conversation are what matter most and are most needed. Visits can be scheduled at times that work for you, and training and guidance will be provided by Father Christian. If you feel drawn to this ministry or would like more information, please email info@stleocatholic.org or contact the parish office. We would love to have you join us in bringing friendship and comfort to those who need it most. Saint John Vianney Rosary for Priests The Saint John Vianney Rosary for Priests is a devotional practice that offers prayers—often using the traditional Rosary and sometimes St. John Vianney medals—for the spiritual strength, holiness, and perseverance of priests, drawing on his example of humility, devotion to the Eucharist, and selfless service, and including prayers for vocations and the sanctification of clergy. This will be a public devotion in the church every Tuesday at 4:30. Faith and Safety Technology Safety Through the Eyes of Faith. Click here for family resources: FAITH AND SAFETY Saint Leo Visitation Ministry St. Leo Visitation Ministry provides outreach to Catholics in nursing facilities and to the homebound. Those who wish regular visits and the reception of Holy Communion, from a priest or a Saint Leo Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, are welcome to participate. If you, or someone you know, would like to arrange for a visit, please contact the parish office for more information: info@stleocatholic.org Grief Support Group: Life After Loss April 1 and 15 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM BBPC Grief Support Group: "Life After Loss." The parents, William and Loretto Koch, are the older couple in the middle of the picture. Frederick is the young man in knickers second from right, and on the far right is older brother William Koch Jr., who also died in 1943 in an airplane crash. Frederick Koch's sister Peggy, second from the left, was the first family member able to make it to Frederick Koch's hospital bedside in Winston-Salem after Koch was injured in a car crash on June 12, 1943. She was also the mother of Tom Mead, interviewed for this story. On the left is John Koch, another of Frederick Koch's brothers.” Wes Young Two of the stained glass windows in the church were donated by the Koch family in memory of Frederick. On the east side, one window depicts St. Anthony of Padua. Frederick died on June 13, St. Anthony’s feast day. The other window shows the resurrected Christ.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Confirmation at St. Leo typically takes place in the spring of eighth grade. Those enrolling in Confirmation preparation must have completed at least one year of religious education before they can begin Confirmation preparation. For most candidates, this means they were either in seventh grade Faith Formation or enrolled in Catholic School. For candidates in high school, it means they were either in eighth grade Faith Formation or in Life Teen High School Youth Ministry. Additionally, candidates must be participating in religious education for their current grade. For our eighth graders, it means Faith Formation or Catholic School; for our high schoolers, it means Life Teen. <image:title>Liturgy & Worship - Frequently Asked Questions</image:title>
<image:caption>Training Questions + Q: When will training be scheduled? A: Training is usually scheduled 1-2 times per year, spring and fall. Q: How will I know when its’s scheduled? A: Training will be announced at mass leading up to it and posted on the church web-site and in the bulletin. Q: Where do I come? A: St. Leo Church. Sit quietly in one of the front pews if you come a little early. Q: Do my parents have to stay? A: No, but they can if they want. If your parents stay, they can sit quietly in the pews. Q: Do I have to come to both training sessions? A: Yes! Q: What if I can come to only one session? A: Attending both sessions is ideal but exceptions can be made. If you are unable to attend one of the sessions, have your parent email Mrs. Hanson at jh6826@aol.com. Q: How long are the sessions? A: About 1 hour each. Q: Who will be training me? A: Deacon Ralph D’Agostino Serving Questions + Q: What if I’m really nervous? A: That’s normal. Everyone is really nervous the first few times. Relax! It’s fun! And the Priests are really, really nice to the Altar Servers! Q: What if I don’t remember what I learned? A: You will be scheduled with 2 or more experienced Altar Servers who are happy to help you remember what to do. Q: What do I wear when I am scheduled to serve? A: Boys: long pants, short or long sleeve collared shirt, and closed toe closed heel shoes. Girls: same as the boys OR a dress/skirt and blouse. Q: How early do I show up for a Mass that I am scheduled? A: At least 20 minutes before the start time of the Mass. Q: What if I can’t serve at one of my scheduled times? A: It is up to you or your parent to find a substitute. The easiest way to do this is to send an email using the Altar Server email list.</image:caption>
